Field note

What limited edition means on a collectible Marvel NFT comic

“Limited edition” is a marketing clause before it is a bibliographic fact. On Marvel NFT comic editions the words can refer to a short drop window, a cover finish, or a stated cap that the public description never actually numbers.

Our comparison sheets copy the wording as it appears, then ask whether any figure is attached. If no figure is attached, the sheet says “limited language, unspecified quantity.” That sentence is dull on purpose.

A short window is not the same as a small run. A weekend drop can still produce a large stack. A numbered paper analog from the 1990s is a different kind of limit altogether and should not be imported into the digital line without a map.

We do not translate limited-edition language into a forecast. Collectors who want live listings can open Veve. Collectors who want the language decoded can stay with the sheet.
