Sketch treatments and empty negative space

Sketch treatments on Marvel NFT comic editions often show a figure with little background. Collectors read that emptiness as a promise of a unique object. The atlas asks a colder question: does the edition description present it as a blank for later art, or as a finished cover that simply uses negative space?

If interiors match a standard drop, the sketch cover is a sibling, not a separate story. If the edition includes a different pin-up or a creator commentary page, it branches.

We also note when a sketch treatment is only a colour-hold change: black line on cream instead of full process colour. That is still the same comic wearing a different jacket.

Empty space is a design choice. It is not, by itself, a limited event.
