Variant ranking notes

Variant ranking notes exist because a single Marvel NFT comic story can spawn several covers in a short window. Collectors mix foil, sketch, and convention-adjacent treatments until the stack no longer matches the drop calendar.

We sort covers by stated edition language, then by observable finish: metallic overlay, empty background meant for a sketch, or a logo lockup unique to a weekend event. Ranking here means order of appearance and relationship, not a score out of ten.

The notes flag when a later reprint borrows a foil treatment from an earlier Marvel NFT comic edition without carrying the same interior extras. That distinction matters when two thumbnails look identical at postage-stamp size.
